Rangoli art for Diwali 2013

Diwali profuses a season of colors, lights and family unities. Rangoli is one of the folk art forms of India, which depicts festivities or a celebration in the purest form. According to Google, it is a decorative design made at the entrance or the welcoming areas mostly and i guess its true because i always tried my hands in my courtyard. One of the major reasons was mom won't yell even if i spoil the enamored look of the entrance as it could be removed anytime.

Rangoli is also considered to bring in good luck. Just like other varied culture scattered over the Indian geographical boundaries rangoli has different names and significances. One thing that stays common is the aura it spreads around and in the air. Vibrant colors enhances the celebrations truly.

But as i am a big girl now, mom trusts me more now. Taking an advantage of this i don't hesitate to play with colors and designs every year. Mom was still sneaking to see the first look of this year's rangoli design. I had nothing in mind when i initially started and had picked up the regular colors from a local hawker from nearby my place and before the diwali pujan in the evening. It took me around two hours and i created this. Sharing the pics a bit late. Sorry for the delay. Hope you all had an awesome Diwali.

Belated happy diwali 2013.

Love
Dextrous
